The Bestrix cd slot phone mount is simply among the best available at an economical price. After only a week, I found it easy to use, convenient, and has a strong hold on the phone.Among the dozens of different kinds, they can be classified by how the mount attaches to the car: suction cup (windshield or dash), air vent, cd slot, cup holder, cigarette lighter socket, rear view mirror, sun visor, clip to console, steering wheel, custom mount/cradle by phone, case and make of car, screwed into console, or peel-off sticker.I tried several types and either returned them or threw them away. Most were relatively inexpensive. One exception was the custom mount/cradle by phone, case and make of car that cost from $70 to $160. Appears to be quite good, however, I didn't test this one; glad I didn't need to.Once the two pieces of the Bestrix unit are assembled, installation is simple: insert it into the cd slot and flip the latch to tighten it in. Removal is just as quick.Significant aspects:- holds phone in a very sturdy manner- clamps on sides do not interfere with buttons on phone- button on rear side near the top releases side clamps- ball joint allows a variety of orientations- it can be temporarily shifted to access dash controls behind it- unit can be easily removed to play CDs- install does not damage cd unit- includes spacers to increase the thickness of the insert- open at bottom to allow cord to be attached for charging- can be easily transferred to other cars- good customer service (thanked me for the review)Considerations:- won't work well in radios whose face must be lowered to access the cd slot- some cd units have a external lip that may prevent the insert to go in deep enough for a snug fit- in some cases, certain dash displays will not be visible, controls may be inconvenient to access, or block the ash tray or cubby hole.The Bestrix unit lists for just $19.99. For the functionality, quality construction, and ease of use as well as install/uninstall, it's a great deal.
