we got this for our 1 year old. it is one of a few 'real' books we have with paper pages rather than board books. as such she isn't allowed to play with it and beat it up like her board books so i figured she wouldn't really be into it until she was a little bit older. well, she adores it. it is by far her favorite book. every night she picks it up and brings it over too us. once we take it she turns around and parks her little tushie on our laps waiting anxiously for us to read it to her.....over and over and over. the colors are so pretty, deep and warm. the words are simple to follow - 'this is poppy. this is max.' - and so on. the illustrations are simple and endearing. the whole book is just as sweet as can be and has become a favorite for my husband and me too. which is a good thing since we really do read it about 10 times every night. we'll be adding the rest of the series soon but this will always hold a very special place in our hearts as our baby's first favorite book.
